"Victory, or death," he said grimly as the battle was joined.

Ayumu looked at Kinsen. At Kanna. At Shinjo. Three ladies that couldn't be any different. All formidable in their own way, all with a personal stake in the upcoming battle, all fully committed to achieve victory.

He nodded.

"We're gonna win in the end. Of that there is no doubt."

"Goblins have struck at our allies, stay ready though our allies are holding the line," he said his eyes closed.

"The goblins are dispatched and the team faces wretched ogres... stay ready," he said to those beside him.

Shinjo paced back and forth as she watched the battle and waited for her brothers to return. As it grew more harrowing, fire surrounded her and she took on her ki-rin form, getting ready for a battle she prayed wouldn't happen.

"The first line is starting to collapse," Nanzi said watching through his connection with Hadananzi.

Kinsen touches her ribbon choker over the attached jade pendant. Takes a deep breath and readies herself in concentration for the upcoming clash.

Ayumu stood and silently put himself into the position for the now ineluctable fight.

The defnders stand strong as they see the hulking 8 foot tall ogres emerge from the ruins they look battered and a little beaten but still powerful and dangerous.

Shinjo in Ki rin form dashes with impossible speed and gores the smaller ogre carrying its body on top of her head for a few seconds before shaking it free leaving a gory mess on her horns and head as she galloped away.

As the last ogre falls on the horns of the Kirin god the ragged group of defenders hears a light laughter coming from the ruins and then slowly out walks a woman, not particularly beautiful nor ugly her long black hair tied behind her. She was a hardy looking woman in plain clothing. The only remarkable things about her was the deathly pale of her skin and the red color of her eyes. “You think you can stand against Jigoku! I will show you what true power is!” the woman ponts a hand toward the group and eight figures come stumbling out of the ruins behind her. Corpses, shambling corpses with dead eyes and sallow complexions, each in a different state of decay they amble forward as a man walks calmly to the woman’s side and finally another massive figure comes into view.

A familiar sight but a horrifying one as the Nezumi warrior that fell just the previous day walks into the clearing but he is horribly burned on half his body the left side of his face was mostly sinew and bone. The large Nezumi wielded a large club that looked like it could be a small tree.

Kanna used some time to Jade her weapon while the rest stood ready to fight whatever emerged. When suddenly a might roar is heard coming from the pit. Shinjo's ears perk up and she takes off at speed toward the rescue party leaving the defenders to hold the line while the gods and shugenja dealt with whatever horrors Jigoku spit out.

The witch smiles and steps languidly up to a young man next to her. she draws an ornate bronze knife and slices the man slowly across his tough hide like skin she murmers as she does and suddenly Kanna and Nanzi feel overwhelming pain take hold of them.

But suddenly Nanzi feels his pain leave him I cannot do that every time while bonded to you my powers over the kansen are weakened but i will protect you when i can he hears in his head the strained voice of Hadananzi.
