"So unfortunately true. I wish we had more time to explore things like this site fully but now is not the time. If... when we win perhaps the spread of darkness will be slowed enough that we will be able to explore the history of this land deeply before it is lost."

Scouting the areas surrounding camp as he usually did, Hanzou came across the ruins and its explorers. He held up the jade he'd been given as he approached.

Saruko was likewise cautious as she joined the others out to the ruins, with her weapons, armor, and jade (as always) with her. Though she had been kind of wandering a bit on her own as the others spoke, as she tried to get a feel of the place.

It was a bit difficult with the presence of Jigoku pressing closer, but she tried still to feel if it had a different connection.

Jin nods to the others entering the area in greeting - touching his jade each time as requested by Shinjo.

Seeing the gesture with the jade, Saruko pulled out the jade she carried on the inside of her clothes and brought it up to her lips and chin to tough.

It's a little bit light and faded, but there's a strange sensation here of all of the other realms, rather than just one.

As she closer her eyes to reach out with her "spiritual-hands", so to speak, it was such an odd sensation to feel many realms pulled together. Even if it was faint, it was overwhelming to think about it.

Opening her eyes, Saruko shook her head to clear her thoughts again. "How strange. I can feel all the realms tied to this place. All of them..."

Jin cocks his head at that, "Some sort of nexus point then? I suppose that it would make sense to build an outpost at such a site if its creators had any spiritual inclination at all."

"Perhaps? It's different from the stone marker we passed almost a week ago, which felt strongly of Ningen-do - our realm - with no connection to the ones beyond."

Curiously she touched some of the ruins with a gloved hand. She could probably reach any place from here... but, the presence of Jigoku nearby concerned her. Would she be at risk if she tried to go out?

"All realms?" Hanzou shook his head. "That shouldn't sweesht be."

"It normally shouldn't no. At least, not that I've ever experienced, but I can feel them all. Maybe this is a place where the veil between the worlds is very thin?"

It could also explain why Fu Leng's fall made a rift between the worlds.

Sora thought about Shinsei's warning about making use of his foresight in areas under Jigoku's influence, and then racked his brain for useful data.

Wanting to try something, Hanzou stepped away from the others, moving towards the center of the ruins. He drew his knife and made a deep cut along his forearm, allowing the blood to drip like rain. He whispered to the kami and slowly looked around. As he felt their power heighten his senses, he listened for the spirits, watching for any sign of their presence.

"Would that mean this area would be a weaker part of Ningen-do, then?"

"No, it doesn't feel weaker..." she shook her head. "A nexus seems like a good descriptor for it though, as Jin said. A point of gathering."

"It is fascinating. I fear my knowledge of the spirit realms is still remedial but I wonder if there are other places like this."

"It's possible. I've only ever noticed places that have a strong connections to one realm, at most two as some realms are closer to eachother - such as the realm of tricksters and the realm of animals." The Ayakashi lands had a strong connection to them both, so they were presences she was used to.

"The hill in Seppun lands where the Kami fell have a strong connection to Tengoku. It wouldn't surprise me if the Kami themselves have a strong connection to that location as well... their fate was tied to it, after all."

"It definitely makes sense as a place to create a steading or outpost to study or benefit from its properties then. I wonder what fate befell the builders. Perhaps the cycle we are now caught in claimed them too."

Kyosei looked around, brows furrowed. "Then, could that have been a shrine here, marking this place as important?"

He points at the one structure that stands tall. "IT looks circular, so might have represented the circle of Realms."

"Maybe..."

Saruko moved from her spot to look at what Kyosei was pointing for. "... The Realms are a circle?"
