So, who wants to make the final earth roll? I can commune pretty good, but the actual level 5 casting roll is a bear. Not sure I could ever make it. Ah, it's been changed to level 3, a little more reasonable.


Who is the officiant? For Lore Theology, if I use Fire Kami's Blessing first, and a void, I can roll 10k5 on the Theology roll. Anyone better?

My base theology, before any changes, is 6k4.
My base Commune on Earth, is 8k4.
My base Importune is 6k3.

I have 3 void, and Fire Kami's Blessing, and Earth's Touch if it's needed.

As long as we have a number of Shugenja participating and succeeding the Earth Importune hopefully won't be too bad.

Theology: 5k4 after Void not counting any buffs that might be given to him
Earth Commune: 7k5 after Void not counting any buffs that might be given to him
Importune: 7k4 after Void not counting any buffs that might be given to him (skill), 7k5 after Void not counting any buffs that might be given to him (casting)

I suspect we'll have someone better for each though so Jin will probably just be adding to the regular Commune pile.

I know Haruyo has Earth 5.

Base Commune Earth: 6k3

I roll 9k5 on Theology before any modifiers. Which I think is good enough to allow not spending a void, which we'll probably need for later.

Will do my best to add +5 to the big commune roll!

The base commune is just TN 10 so makes sure you jump in if you're a shugenja - we'll need all the +5s we can get,

I was going to say that either of the blind characters are probably the most logical choice. One is an Earth primary with an Earth of 5. And the other, I believe, can hit 9k6 on their Earth tests. It's kind of funny, but the blind girls are actually high quality leaders for this roll.

Is Haruyo Dutiful, or is she Self-Taught?

Self taught, I'm out here straight flexin' on my Earth Roles.

I'm not sure, though she is tapped for the Portal Closing event I believe as well.

Ok, so, at this point I'm just going to assume you're IR 2 as a shugenja, which means with Void, you're rocking a 10k7 spellcasting roll on the Earth Commune. That's approaching early Tadaka levels. So, just saying, when it comes down to the base commune control roll of a Mastery 5 spell, you are almost certainly the most qualified for this roll in the game.

Just don't burn all your void if doing both.

Perhaps. Though, I don't know if I want to steal the spotlight of this show. I'm not IR2 though, so that might help even me out a little.

Edit: Then again I do have the talent for Earth basic trio soooo maybe that ups me again.

Do still join for at least the basic shielding commune though - that has no character limit.

This is my "Non-Shugenja" understanding as well, that first all the shugenja we can spare from fighting are working to make the shield happen so we don't all die horribly, and then we're trying a last ditch effort to seal the pit with Fu-Leng's help. So, as long as the key shugenja (Haku for Void, Haruyo potentially for Earth, you for Water...) still have slots left and don't blow all void, we're fine.

And haruyo, 9k7 v 10k7 is still *laughs* 9k7. Hah, I don't think anybody is going to outstrip you and Haka for the Earth Commune ability.

However, it probably is not a terrible idea, since the "Portal Closing" event is not listed if you guys just double-check with Canary birb-sama if it will be a separate event or how that'll be handled.

Remember you need to join the thread before it opens - so about two and a half hours countdown remaining.

If you're a shugenja please be there so we can at least get the commune bonus.

I'm going to be there, but not super likely to hit those rolls, because, being a non-traditional-shugenja, I don't have spellcraft.

Honestly we just need as many bodies on the commune rolls as possible so we don't autofail if monsters get through and take one or two of us out.

Looks like Kyosei and I are tied for Spellcraft/Earth - anyone beating a 6k3 before void? (Haruyo, I assume, if she does join)
