Not Today, Cave! (D9 LM)

[Shoji Haka]

"This one does not mind sharing, but it is difficult to remember ot all at once. The stick figures help, and do not speak of names... blessed rope seems to keep them out of area. Lonely ghosts can be confused if you ask them questions they do not expect. Quiet ghosts can usually be avoided by just not speaking to or looking at them."

Her forehead scrunched up as she tries to remember more. "Most cannot be seen with the eyes until they are right upon you. Many ghosts will wat a person, but sometimes they possess their victim, which is very bad. It lets them control that person's body and do terrible things. Wards usually do not work when this happens."

[Seidou Satone]

"And there is no way to physically fight them at all? My hammer for example, is it useless?"

[Shoji Haka]

"About as useful as attacking the wind." She pauses. "Though, a hammer that has been enchanted by magic might work. The prayers of a shaman... or maybe wrapping the head with sacred rope..."

Haka's expression turns thoughtful. "This makes me interested in trying a few things. Perhaps when this journey is over this one will have the chance. Maybe... waking up the spirits within the hammer...?"

[Seidou Satone]

"I have heard tales of such thing, and that those who master my craft can do so. Though I am certainly not able to yet. I wouldn't mind trying to wrap it with a sacred rope, though would it lose it sacredness if it is used against non-spirits? I still have to use it to fight normal things such as bandits, raiders, rats, trolls and ogres"

[Shoji Haka]

"Most likely, but the rope could be changed out if it became defiled. Or maybe you could carry two weapons, one with rope and one without."

[Seidou Satone]

"I do have a big club. Tetsubo, we call them. Though I much prefer my hammer."

[Shoji Haka]

"Would be worth trying if some rope can be found. This one can purify it."

[Seidou Satone]

"I will attempt to find some then."

Satone finishes another doll, setting it an equal distance from the others.

"How many of these dolls do you think the cave needs? There are many completed now that I have been helping you."

[Shoji Haka]

"Hmmm... that should be enough. Hopefully they will help." Haka wipes her hands on her skirt. "Thank you for helping. That made it go much faster."

[Seidou Satone]

"It was my pleasure. It was good meeting you and talking about things. I have learned much. I will see you again soon, if I can find a rope."

[Shoji Haka]

"Please do!" Haka smiles, takes a moment to reorient herself, and then wanders off.
