Kyosei nods. "This may take a few moments." He settles down into a sitting posture, then lays his hands on the ground and bows his head.

Though he bleeds in no way, it is soon obvious that something is happening, as his hands begin to be coated with dust, then a light dirt coating, then stone seems to cover them.

"Are there any unclean spirits here we should worry about?"
The earth rumbled around them. "YES... DARK..."

Though the others likely can't hear the Earth kami, his voice is clear. "Should we try to remove it?"

"CORRUPTION DEEP... CAN'T REMOVE FULLY... CAN REMOVE THE THING THAT BRINGS THE DARK..."

"What is the best way to remove the thing we should remove that brings the dark?" Convoluted, but the Earth kami always did seem to like exactness in words.

"KILL..."

Hearing this, he lifted his head, and, with a visible struggle, raised his hands from the ground. The rock broke free, but showered him with dust. "So, there is something here. And the Earth spirits would like us to remove it. It won't completely clear the problem, but will lessen it considerably. And the requested form of removal is to kill it."

"Killing is what Nanzi does best," he said honestly.

"Well that and making love... but Nanzi doubts that will be useful here."

"I... really hope not. No idea what it is, but it is alive, and further down. I am ready." He pats his side, then actually pulls out his obsidian knife, and gets ready. "Does anyone want to get some armor or the like before we go? Or more fighters?"

In his mind, there is no other choice but to fight. The spirits asked, so it shall be done.

Nanzi was in warrior's kit so he was ready and said, "We pull back if we must."

Kaze frowned, but if Nanzi was sure. "I suppose we could...but it seems secondary to the mission."

"Let us see what is inside, before we cook rabbits we have not caught," Nanzi whispered before turning and went deeper inside.

Kyosei followed the warrior, knife at the ready, eyes darting around.

New stealth roll=33
Anti-bushwhack=38

Kaze followed, hugging the shadows and keeping his ears wide open.

As they traverse deeper into cave light is quickly swallowed by darkness faster than one would expect even in a cave. As they walk the light of the cave opening eventually disappears. Unless someone brought a torch with them the group is quickly swallowed by utter blackness and even if someone had the forethought to bring a light source to explore a cave they would only be partially rewarded as the cave seemed to drink the light away. even with torches the cave only appears partially illuminated bringing only things in the immediate area into view.

When the darkness comes, Kyosei asks the others to stop, and pulls some candles out of one of his pouches. "We can use these."

This is when Koyama caught up with the group.

""Worry nae. Tis be Koyama." He said, coming into the faint flicker of the candle lit by Kyosei. "Good tidings tae ye, Nanzi, 'n' th' rest o' you." He seemed not too perturbed by the circumstances.

Kyosei had a candle for him too. "I will, at the least, be able to hold mine in my left hand. So, when we reach this thing, don't fear to drop the others, so you can use your weapons." He then takes a place in the middle of the group. He had no armor, nor skill in wearing it. Best to be ready.

"As much as Nanzi wishes to destroy evil, this is first and foremost a scouting sortie," he said nodding to those gathered and then pressed forward slowly.

"This darkness is not right."

Kaze has a quiet nod and smile for the Shinjo-fella, but chooses not to step out of the shadows, but rather slink forward into the cave with Nanzi. It was, in fact, business time.

Doji would be pissed if Nanzi came back irreparably damaged.

And if Doji ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
