Heavenfall

For some reason it seemed like everyone in the camp were dead set on going to the waterfall this morning. Curiosity being triggered, he wandered over to witness a line of people engaging in a staring contest with...erm...Shinsei's bird?

Before he could make sense of this the bird was on him

When Karasu reached Wu, the weight of his judgment fell upon the man, his parents, his parents' parents, every one of his ancestors, his cousins, and every single descendant he would ever have. Then it was gone, along with the bird, barely after it began.

Wu was struck silent under the bird's stare.

What is this bird? A spirit?

The tall warrior found the waterfall soothing. His eyes drinking it all in, until they came across the Crow. An eyebrow raised, as he removed his hat. A hand moving over his balding pate, as he made eye contact with the creature.

Satone was on her way to the cave, but before she made it there, the sight of the crow flying overhead caught her attention. She watched it until it landed next to her.

"Hello, crow. Having a good flight? I wish I could join you."

She smiles at the bird, and then noticing it isn't blinking, she takes up the challenge and returns the stare.

She is fairly good at it.

Karasu's stare is long and deep, his thoughts unfathomable and corvine. But there was a respect there, for Yamadono, one not granted to many others. After a long while, the crow nodded and turned, parting ways with the last of the Noriaki having forged a bond, as equals.

Evidently enough to deter the crow. For one reason or another, Karasu blinks first, then abruptly flies off. Maybe that hammer blow did something to Satone's stare...

The Last Noriaki nodded to the Crow, before doing something he had learned about in the time since Seppun Hill.

He bowed to the creature, respectfully. His own thoughts were his own, but he also sensed something within himself through the connection to the Crow.

Karasu had been watching Koyama bathe, and when the staring contest began, he made a noise like laughter. He laghed and laughed, and continued to laugh even as he stared Koyama down from atop his mighty perch.

""Are ye doolally, an eejit or th' like?" Koyama shrugged and just left, having dried up a bit.

It amused the tribeswoman greatly to continue watching the bird get frustrated in its contests with some while cawing cries of victory against others, but at some point that amusement started to wane as the number of challengers dwindled. Having at least proven herself against the bird, she started to work her way down the animal trails to see if she could reach the cool and refreshing pool below the falls and continue enjoying the morning.
