Heavenfall

Taochusu begins his rounds of the camp in the night. Keeping his eyes open after word that things had been trying to mess with the camp and it's supplies, and the call from the Kami requesting night watches, the big guy begins devoting his nights to the task.

Dawei has been keeping night watch for a while now. Tonight is no different, though he does not conceal himself as he looks for strange tracks on the ground (Hunting 30). There's enough jumpiness about that being spotted--unlikely as it might be--would not end well.

So he nods to the big man also on patrol.

Taochusu returns the nod. "How's it going?" he asks as he keeps his eyes on the perimeter.

Another soul would join the pair. Armored and spears at the ready Wu walk towards their positions while eyeing the darkness

''Good evening'' he said in a low voice

"Well, so far. Hopefully, it'll endure."

Then, to Wu, another nod.

"And for you?"

The big guy greets Wu. "Hey."

"How's the expedition been treating you?" he says at both of them.

Finding nothing in his search, Dawei nods.

"Like I said, things proceed well enough. Carving had some success along the way; I can hope it will help."

''I cannot complain thus far. The march is hardeous but it offered us many opportunities to visit places we never could have otherwise'' came as his answer

''What about you Taochusu?''

"Lots of chances to learn about the gods and get to know other folks. Definitely been better than being alone all the time."

Dawei nods.

"More chances of success, too."

''I agree, still what we will face is still uncertain.''

"Isn't everything in the future uncertain though? The future's always a mystery, just gotta take it in stride."

"Doesn't mean we don't work to make the future we want. Might not happen, but definitely won't if we sit idly."

Is the night watch turning into a philosophy discussion?

''Tomorrow is the shadow of today.''

Dawei looks at the Dragon daimyo.

"Ominous words, given where we are bound."

"I don't know if that's entirely true. If tomorrow was a shadow, why does it start with a sunrise?"
