Lay On Hands... Carefully [D15LA][OPEN/healing]

[Seppun Chisei]

One of the larger tents had been cleared out enough to accept wounded, whether vertical or horizontal. And healers were gathered to treat them.

Chisei was one of them, waiting, frowning in mild anxiety.

[Bayushi Umeno]

Umeno made her way into the camp and immediately made for the tents. She had someone run to find out where Jin was, figuring the wagons would have any plants or supplies to help the wounded, so that was where he would be.

She gently laid Ayumu down onto the ground as she entered the tent where she was directed to, the man still laying on the straw cloak she'd carried him there in. She looked back to make certain the Crab was still with her as she gave a bow to Chisei.

[Jin]

It did not take long for Jin to arrive but, seeing the unconscious man, he did not bother unloading his medical kit yet. Instead his knife added yet another crossed line to the myriad spiderwebs of scars on the stump of what was once his right hand - his blood flowing free as the spirits began to knit the worse of Ayumu's wounds.

With the Jiyo stabilized at least he looks around the others to judge where to next expend his efforts, "How badly hurt is everyone? Did we lose anyone?"

Xia holds up her burned hands

"We uh, did. One of the brave Nezumi."

[Jin]

Jin frowns and shakes his head, "Damn it!" Then looking at Xia's hands he sighs, "For someone with such a wonderful mind you still haven't learned how to dodge, Xia?"

Another slash to his arm and Xia's hands start to slowly reform their missing skin.

"What was the name of the one we lost? We need to ensure he is remembered."

[Bayushi Umeno]

"Never said his name, but she brought back his weapon. One of the others around here might recognize it." Umeno had just sat with a slight wince. Jin already knew she wasn't the sort to ask for help.

[Anjing Xia]

Jin frowns and shakes his head, "Damn it!" Then looking at Xia's hands he sighs, "For someone with such a wonderful mind you still haven't learned how to dodge, Xia?"

Realizing that might not narrow it down

Jin nods as his blood continues to flow. Her stoicism would not stop him but, seeing her wounds were the least of those before him, he did not put as much of himself into the spell. That said the Scorpion did still feel the pain lessen slightly as he turned to examine the other two patients again to see who was in need of the most assistance.

As he does he focuses, putting the name to memory and ensuring he has the clicks in the rights places. "Ch'jak'matt... Ch'jak'matt... Ch'jak'matt."

The bushi gave a nod of thanks, but stayed where she sat. "Should've seen the crease Jin. Threw fire, had fire inside. Exploded when it died. None of us could dodge that things claws and flame. Sides, she hit hard."

[Shinjo Miuna]

Miuna happened by and noticed all the commotion, rushing over she went to Ayumu's side. She pulled out her knife and cut into her palm, incantation already leaving her lips.

She placed her uninjured hand upon his chest. He was so still. Seeing him in such a state caused her to lose her concentration momentarily.

C'mon, focus, he needs you.

She closed her eyes to concentrate, her hand still on Ayumu. This time she felt the familiar pull of the water kami as their energy flowed from her body into his.

Chisei smiled gently, even as he drew his ritual dagger. "Hit and set on fire. Goodness. That sounds a bit beyond the normal ebb and flow of combat."

A cut, a wave of the hand, and a sprinkle of blood. Xia would feel energy gathering around her, flowing into her body, knitting her skin, until she was healed entirely.

Xia looks very embarrassed as the cluster of shugenja get their heal on over her and the rest of the party

"Really, we were trying not to get set on fire, but that thing was huge and horrible. I probably should have picked a better first opponent than 'giant fire demon' ".

[Bayushi Umeno]

Umeno raised an eyebrow. "That was your first fight Crab-san? Could've fooled me."

[Jin]

Seeing that healing was going well apace Jin allows a bit of a smile, "While the adage of picking your battles holds true I think it is suspended somewhat when at the mouth of hell."

Taking out his medical kit Jin begins to mix a series of herbs and oils into a fine paste. He then passes the resulting mix of salve to Umeno.

"I know you do not like to rely on things other than yourself but this salve will help with healing. We still rely on you and need you in fighting shape for tomorrow."

Umeno raised an eyebrow. "That was your first fight Crab-san? Could've fooled me."

"Oh I don't usually go out with the warriors, it's sort of a social thing back home and..and uh, you know, staying back and keeping an eye on things and writing up the stores, that's fun too. I guess my aunt's techniques really work though, never thought I'd be using them like that."

[Jiyo Ayumu]

Cough, cough, cough.

Under the combined magical power of Jin and Miuna, Ayumu woke up, though not pleasantly, his lungs finally expelling the last traces of smoke.

He wasn't definitely looking fine, but not much worse than a shirtless Ayumu would usually look like. Even some of the patches of discolored skin were an old memento that refused to go rather than a new change brought on by the acid.

"What happened? Last thing I remember... Acid's wave... Giant rat standing before it..."

Umeno took the salve and rubbed it on where the fire had singed her, murmuring a quiet thanks. She looked to Xia with a smirk. "I agree with Jin, I'd have started with something easier. Still, it all worked out for you in the end. I don't think you could have done anything more."

That last comment was said with a bit more seriousness. She was used to being in fights and seeing comrade's die. She glanced to Ayumu as he came back to reality. "We made it, the nezumi didn't, you just barely. Creature's dead. I'd stay laying down if I were you."

[Jiyo Ayumu]

Ayumu nodded, and laid down again:

"Can do that. Thanks.

I don't remember the last instants well but... He was just so big... I think he shielded us with his body from a good deal of the blast. Don't think I would have made it if he hadn't.

You, Xia... Are you alright?"

[Anjing Xia]

Ayumu nodded, and laid down again:
