[Seppun Dawei]

Dawei, having rested prior, takes up watch again. As previously, he seeks to take up a hidden position, but the arrangement of camp precludes effective hiding, even in the darkness (Stealth 26). He peels his eyes as best he can, but it is not very good, the Fortune of Dung having evidently seen his pants (Investigation 17).

Perhaps others will stand with him, helping ward the camp better?

[Doji Kaze]

Kaze arrived silently. Spotting the distracted Dawei, he maneuvered through the shadows to a position near his right, where he observed for a short time in silent concern.

Dawei muses on the day's events.

It will be no small thing to do tomorrow, he thinks. I hope I am up to it.

And what was Nanzi's problem?

[Doji Kaze]

Kaze comes a little closer and, without making a sound, lays a hand on Dawei's elbow.

"You are cute when you are lost in thought, my love," he whispers.

Another man walks around the camp

He, however, does not hide.

The dragon stops his round to look both at Dawei and then at Kaze in their hidy-holes. He picks up jade and puts it to his forehead.

[Seppun Dawei]

Dawei manages not to start when Kaze touches him and speaks. Giving a low chuckle, he says "I guess I am distracted, yes, Beloved."

Then, seeing Wu, he nods and kisses his own jade.

[Doji Kaze]

Kaze smiles and goes for his own jade to share the tale of purity with Wu.

"It puts me in mind of our first meeting. I got the drop on you then as well, as I recall."

[Seppun Dawei]

"I am fortunate, then, that you love me so. And I am shown that faith in you is well placed."

[Doji Kaze]

Kaze smiled warmly. "I suppose it is." A breath. "Momentous doings tomorrow. Are you...you know..."

[Seppun Dawei]

Dawei nods.

"I am going. Leading the way, I think, or at least searching out a path."

He smiles slightly.

"And I have prayed there will be a way back."

To you.

[Doji Kaze]

"I will worry, but I will deliver many prayers to Amaterasu and to Benten that I will see you again." He paused, then affected an academic tone. "There are many advantages, I am told, to being married to a bona fide hero."

[Seppun Dawei]

Dawei snorts a laugh.

"Keep an eye on my backtrail, Beloved, and it'll help. But prayer won't hurt, either."

He pauses.

"I spoke with the Lady Hantei about the wedding. She will endorse it to the Lord Hantei."

[Doji Kaze]

"That is wonderful news! I hope...were there negotiations that were made?"

[Seppun Dawei]

"She had a couple of questions for me about you, but there was no resistance to the idea."

Dawei pauses again. When he resumes, there is a bit of humor in his voice.

"Advantage of being her teacher, I suppose."

[Doji Kaze]

"Then...then it is almost settled." He smiled warmly. "Seppun Kaze...I like it."

[Seppun Dawei]

"As do I, Beloved."

Dawei looks at him.

"Be as safe as you can tomorrow, Kaze-kun. I'd like to be able to come back to you."

[Doji Kaze]

"I will. But you are making sure that you are coming back, too. If you don't, I will hunt you down. You know this."

[Seppun Dawei]

Dawei chuckles again.

"I know you will, and I know you'd find me. I'll do all I can."
