"It is one theory that has been suggested by a brother of my teacher. Another thought it was a like a tower, evil at the bottom, Tengoku at the top. Another suggested it was more like a spiderweb. One of his sisters suggested it was more like a group of logs in a small pond, bumping into each other."

"Hmmm..." that was a bit beyond what she knew about the realms. They had never shown any shape or structure in the times she had visited.

"That's an interesting theory. I wonder what it does look like." Saruko maybe imagined it like a flower's petals... overlapping with eachother. Maybe? She felt certain there were overlaps for some of them.

Jin stood silent but attentive. This level of metaphysics and philosophy outside his own range of knowledge, yet, but certainly fascinating.

Kyosei shruggs. "I admit, I don't know. But the circular shaped of that structure sparked the thought."

"Mmm... it could also be because a circle is a frequently used doorway," she suggested with a teasing smile. Sometimes, she had to remind herself that there was no deeper meaning to everything.

"A door... do you think? Would this be why Fu Leng was flung this direction, because as he crossed through the realms, there was already a door here?"

"Normally, the barriers between Realms grow thin because of an event leading to affinity- a violent murder would weaken the barrier to Toshigoku, for example... If all of the Realms are close here... That means it was done on purpose."

Kyosei looked again at the circular structure. "Would it be safe to talk to the earth spirits here? Or would it be unsafe with all the other realms being near here, too?"

"I think it would be safe to commune with the kami," she said, not quite sure, but then again she was no shaman.

Jin ponders, "The nezumi mentioned dark spirits that have escaped from the rift. If they were wily they might try to masquerade as spirits of this realm or perhaps the evil can twist elemental spirits the same way it twists the land they inhabit. The closer we get to our goal the more caution I recommend. But if Saruko did not feel a stronger presence of any one realm I think the spirits here are likely those of our own."

She nodded with Jin's words. "This is unchartered territory in many ways for us. Be careful. My senses aren't nescessarily a sure indication, so I place my trust in your knowledge as well as shamans."

"If all realms are here, that means Jigoku too. So keep your jade close," she cautioned softly, though a touch deferentially to the shugenja.

Kyosei puts a hand in a pouch, and pulls forth a few jade objects, a shape like a finger, a small orb, even one carved like a small animal. "Jade is one area I am fully stocked on."

He kneels down near the structure, placing his hands on the stone near it, then lowers his head. Those that look closely can see that he doesn't cut himself, but the Earth seems to answer, covering his hands in a layer of dust, that becomes dirt, then pebbles start to form...

"Spirits of the Earth, is there anything here that we should do to make you more comfortable?"

Wanting to try something, Hanzou stepped away from the others, moving towards the center of the ruins. He drew his knife and made a deep cut along his forearm, allowing the blood to drip like rain. He whispered to the kami and slowly looked around. As he felt their power heighten his senses, he listened for the spirits, watching for any sign of their presence.

He doesn't find any particularly unusual spirits - not any active ones anyway. There is a lot dormant in this ruin.

"If this was done on purpose... I shudder to think of the power involved. To bring the spirit realms together- all of them- in one place?"

Sora eyed the architecture nervously- hoping, for once, that his devil-eye would show him absolutely nothing.

Life was never so kind to Sora. He received a flash - a brief one - of faintly glowing people dressed in fine clothing and armor. It's gone as soon as he blinks, though.

She looked to Sora, curious what he might be seeing.
