Those Who Defend Planning

For reasons that should be obvious in the "Second Shield" discussion, Phi isn't a good choice for the "Those Who Defend" segment. So I'm decidedly stepping back on this one. However, I'm pretty sure our many high-end, optimized combatant will want to discuss strategy, so go for it guys and good luck!

I think having Satone here would be a good idea.

I am inclined to agree that Satone is one of the better choices for this event from what I have seen

Kinsen could be here, if needed. But would gladly leave room for others interested.

I mean I'm ranged and not terribly tough but most people are going for the second ring and I really want to do a combat this game

Keeping in mind that we're still early in planning, I would not count yourself out on the Second Shield, Reo. You're a good, not terrible choice for it. We'll need a total of 9 defenders after all, and some of us will sit this one out.

Ko’s another tanky melee gal, which from the sound of it is what we want here. (I’m also not afraid of getting knocked down, which seems likely given the event write-up... because GD :P)

I may hop on come time.

I saw what that girl did to the bandits. Ko would probably be a VERY good choice in this fight

Well, Orokos was friendly to me that time.

I think we probably can expect this to be a swarm event in which things pop out of the woods at close range and just go to town on us. But Ko is also a decent archer (though only Ref 3), in the unlikely event that archery is useful here.

@Inga: Forest Killers fist bump!

I guess I should've posted it here instead of the OOC.

Combat takes place when I'm working, so I'll leave it to others. Good luck.

Forgive me, but I would like this mission to be successful. I would actively prefer that characters with a suicidal death wish not enter this scene. It is just as easy to write a fiction of a glorious death on the side of the battle at the end of the game without jeopardizing the last month of play for everyone else to ensure that death.

However, if you're willing to go full tilt and ask the kansen to obliterate everything in your sight, that might pull something off. As it stands, if you're going to participate I recommend the Second Shield.

Your only real limiter is that glass jaw. You have excellent odds of hitting and flesh cutters do solid damage with even a single raise and jade application. If you don't get into this round, make a serious stab at Second Shield, because Reo has every business participating in these events.

I do have a glass jaw, but thanks :D

I also have some Night Milk Coated arrows. I am not sure now it works on mobs, but -3k0 is a very nice debuff

I'd worry though that stuff like poison or knockdown or disarm and the like would be ineffective since its multiple enemies just combined into one. You should pop it in GM questions!
