In the center of Jigoku, the most tortured of souls experience a most horrifying punishment: sitting around an enormous table of cold stone, the seats uncomfortable like a bed of nails, area blazing hot with a thousand fires and freezing cold like the highest mountains all at once, a meeting going on with no clear agenda, random topics that have nothing to do with why the meeting was called but the oni at the head of the table laughs maniacally and does nothing to get things back on track, another particular oni constantly interrupts others to spend eons at a time on a tangential personal matter wholly unrelated to anything else, the meeting going on forever and ever and ever with no adjournment, no break, pure chaos and evil in the deepest and darkest place in Hell...

... and somewhere in the remaining vestiges of what sanity the poor souls still have left, they feel it, they know: this all could have been handled in a simple letter instead.
