Agreed. Then it sounds like either Kyosei or Jin for the Importune roll since no one's come forward with higher. If that's the case, unless Kyosei wants the casting roll, I'll give him the Importune as Jin is definitely getting an attempt to shine in sealing the pit (if we make it there)

Honestly unless people botch their communes pretty much anyone should be able to cast the spell once Importuned

Ryoko will just be backup, I think. She's 5k3 on earth spellcasting rolls, but spellcraft is not a skill she has, so importuning is not on the table for her.

I think you're the best one for the last Commune roll because you can lower the TN.

Reiko and at least 4 of the shugenja - if three shugenja lose concentration the protection bubble goes pop.

If some of us have to drop concentration to defend I know Jin and Kyosei can sling Jade - does anyone else have solid attack magic?

Only two of us can drop concentration so we should make sure it is our best that do.

Nadare can also sling Jade and has defensive spells as well as healing.

Jin's weak point is Reflexes 2 though he does have Ashigaru Armor to help that a little.

Otherwise Earth 3, Strength of the Earth, and Quick make him a decent combatant against Shadowlands. (He has zip against humans and soft hearted but thankfully these folks don't count)

I do also have Earth's Stagnation.
