Wedding Planning

Since the plan for Day 16 involves a wedding ceremony of FuFu to Reiko to invoke Lady Sun's attention and blessing, let's get some wedding preparations done!
We'll need:
- A wedding dress
- Sake or other alcoholic beverage for the ceremony
- Decorations for the ceremony and the bride
- Food items for the ceremony (salt, water, rice, sake, fruit, and vegetables to be left before the shrine)
- A shugenja to purify the shrine and the bride
- Maybe a stand-in of sorts for FuFu? A small statue perhaps?
- Sacred rope and paper to make "sacred ground" for the wedding ceremony. (I have rope and paper to supply to this, but as per Canary we need someone to bless it)
That's my first brainstorming, so do feel free to contribute ideas and/or items!
So far we have:
- A shrine!
- Kimono from Nanzi to be modified as suitable bridal kimono for Reiko (also donations from Kyosei)
- Sweets to offer
- Necklace of jade beads from Kyosei
- A torii arch courtesy of Reo!
- Music, song and dance (Miyako, Ryoko, Saruko)

Nanzi brought many kimono, he has you covered if you need to repurpose one.

by Jiyo Ayumu
Since we have smiths...
Custom sword as wedding gift?
Ayumu has Craft: Tailoring, Craft: Cooking, and has learned Artisan: Woodcarving during the trip, so he is well-rounded for a lot of tasks, with a fluff preference for Tailoring (I only roll one more dice for that, but Ayumu already did tailoring work for two godbrides in this expedition so far).
No good fabric sadly. The tailor is not rich.
However, technically locked in a combat thread at EA for the moment so maybe wiser to start planning as if he isn't available...

Nanzi's kimono are probably better quality/silk compared to Saruko's spare ones.
I also have sweets in my inventory that we can throw in (described before as being dried fruits and nuts) for the offering to the shrine.
Ko mentioned having some "hooch" which we can use if no one has sake.
Saruko has also collected and press-dried flowers earlier in the expedition, so we can use that as well for decorations and rituals.
Does anyone of the ladies have jewelry to dress up Reiko with? Saruko has a necklace and a bracelet she'll borrow. What about makeup? (Saruko has a mirror at least but no makeup)

Any music and song? I harmonize well next to an instrument!

With Saruko, Miyako, and Ryoko, I think we'll have some good musical support! Yamadono also plays the flute so that's good too!

Not much Jin can contribute I don't think. He only has one rank in Theology and I'm sure we have folks with more than that for the actual ceremony part.

Kinsen has Perfume (probably cinnamon, but poetic license is open here) and the jade bracelets that she has as a surplus.

Are these wedding ritual elements all needed this early in the empire?

This is complete guesswork from me though, but I figured it would be more or less what Doji did for the other Kami-weddings (bringing in the rituals of Tengoku), with probably some touches from each individual tribe depending on the bride/groom for the Kami.
And Isawa's tribe did also lay the groundwork for a lot of ritual practices in the Empire, so I guess this would also be some of what the Isawa do?
GMs can of course step in at any point and correct me though!

Ryoko has her tribal clothes, and those are not very stylish in the Rokugani sense, so she probably can't help there.
She can contribute artisan rolls if needed, with her awareness and void, and music if requested.

Accurate. Doji would be very eagerly making sure the wedding traditions of the Empire reflect Tengoku and has illustrated them with several Kami weddings. The characters involved are most likely imitating her.
Seems reasonable, given that the idea is to sppeal to Amaterasu's sensibilities.

I did open my bottle of wine but I still have some.
Reo isn't a bad cook, and could make an archway.

If you could slap together a torii arch, that would be super cool.

I think that sounds reasonable!

I'm a shugenja! Not entirely clear on the purifying bit, but I am a shugenja at least.

Means you might be of help in purifying, blessing, and sanctifying stuff.
I've updated the top-post somehwat. All contributions are welcomed, folks!

I also have a couple ranks in both Lore: Elements and Lore: Theology for blessings and/or purifications.
