On Hybrid Events:

You will noticed the "What is Jigoku and How Do We Fight It?" is a hybrid roleplay/traditional event. The players as a group have a certain amount of successes they need to achieve before they fail a certain number of times - in this case 6 successes and 3 failures. The GMs will generally start with an NPC post, and the characters may enter as normal. The lead NPC will generally lead them into the main activity at hand, at which point rolling may commence.

These rolls are meant to take place during the course of normal roleplay in the thread. Not every post needs to be a roll.

In this case, the thread will be a discussion on the Shadowlands and Jigoku, making plans for what can be done when they get there. Hence the discussion is likely to meander through questions and answers and normal discussion, with rolls representing people volunteering ideas for how to handle it. Once the threshold is reached for success or failure, an NPC will close it off with a conclusion, and it will move into normal RP.

Please stop including references to rice in things. I had to edit the description in the farmlands to get rid of it again. That was not reflective of the status of rice in the Empire. I know it's just a point of flavor and it's only one more game until you have it, but still.

Day change will be delayed for a couple of hours while I get home.

Day 5 is live. Birb will return to handle the Swamp of Sorrows event in the morning.

The EA event will hit during another thread during the same time slot. So please feel free to make threads then rather than waiting to see what it is. It is not a dangerous event.

Early Evening D7, Shinjo puts out the call for volunteers to take watches in the EN and LN slots going forward.

Because of the success with the Nezumi, each person who does not have jade gains 1 Finger of Jade.

There are technical problems going on with the site the server is at. More than our server is being affected. We may end up having periodic outages through the rest of game, but they won't last for more than an hour or two. Please have patience while we deal with these technical difficulties, and hopefully this will be wrapped up sooner rather than later.

During Day 10, before marching begins, Shinjo announces new security measures:
First, she explains to those present the bog hag incident and that with the child.

Everyone has jade now - touching it will be standard upon greeting. To supplement, our most perceptive people will keep on the lookout for strange behavior and report it. This is not a perfect measure, so stay on your guard.

We will not be allowing more people to join. We apply the same standards to any who appear - they must touch jade, a scout needs to keep an eye on things as they do. If they pass that test, we may tell them where to find safety if we know any from here.

Whenever a character sleeps during and after day 11, they will begin having horrifying nightmares. All of their worst fears, their deepest regrets, shamess and resentments, their most inappropriate desires come out in force and haunt their minds as they sleep. Even the youngest are haunted by shadows and horror in their dreams.

The only exceptions to this are Reiko (on D11, as she is communing with Fu Leng), Hantei, and Nanzi.

Congratulations, everyone!

The group ended with over 100 Purity, and all end game events were successfully completed. This means:

Fu Leng has been rescued and is untainted
Hantei is alive
The Portal to Jigoku is closed

There are still complications in the background, but this was a massive victory for Ningen-do that will hamper Jigoku's plans going forward.

Though it won't stop them...
