There are a whole lot of twins.
I've long since given up on "realism" when it comes to PC reproduction in games. And I'm equally guilty myself of tossing that realism out the window in favor of "this seems cool!"

I've used a few methods of rolling for babies in the past. Not for Nazo, though. Her children are definitely unique.

We are in an unique time period. :D

how on earth can a young crab clan patrol the entire north?

At some point the other northern clans should man their own northern border

The Crab managed to patrol the entire south before/in canon?

I don't think Shiba meant putting the Crab north as a "temporary" solution?

The Wall wasn't built before 700 years after the fall. Before that, the defensive line was full of holes.

I guess right now, the frontier is a but a few fortifications in critical choke points.

I wonder if Great Mountain City is now a Crab enclave in the south, of if it has been conceded to the Stag/the Rat.

Mountains are pretty natural fortifications against invasions as seen in RL history (same goes for big forests too). It's harder to move troops, get supplies and also farm for your people in such terrain (Crab in this timeline might be even worse off than the canon-Dragon clan that almost always has struggled with enough food).

Will be interesting to see how the situation develops. I can see the Crab becoming even more territorial with this perhaps... or might increase trading with Yobanjin.

Crab relocation definitely feels like it will be the biggest inter-Empire conflict point unless someone's post-game goals got real vicious.

(Which is why when it was obvious that one of the 'make peace with nezumi' options was going to win I went for the one that caused more conflict)

Nanzi did not have twins, just all lady birds.

I like to call him step-son.

I saw a timeline update and got all excited, but it was the 'before this game' timeline.

I will now return to lurking.

I do like having more of what went down spread out in a rational fashion, no lie...

It's one reason I don't mind the idea of a longer 'down time' period in terms of canonical years. There are still things from Dawn 1's results that haven't been finalized as of yet and are playing out slowly. This, in combination with the significant efforts of a large cast means a lot is happening to a building empire.

10-15 years gives greater time for that to happen in measured chunks rather than all at once in the span of 1-2 years.

I greatly enjoy reading what everyone else is up to since I only know what I did after Dawn 1. :D

Won't lie, part of my big takeaway from that timeline is that the Event-Tanking Bushi Squad is going to be a LOT more famous in the next installment. :P

I enjoyed seeing that Yozora got some things done. And got all up in Ide's bed. ;)

Oh, and the map's quite interesting indeed. Beiden Pass leads right into Imperial lands, so I was double right to focus on it.

TBH, I liked Yozora a lot, and especially her little subplot with Hanako.

I love the amount of 'empty' space in the map presumably still held by tribes or disputed. It gives a lot of options for tension and conflict without going all the way to 'full on border war' right away.
