Whenever I see references to Inari and Inari-kami in this game, I keep thinking that Inari from Dawn 1 just beat all of us and became a Fortune already. :lol:

As I learned in Dawn 1, Inari was elevated into Fortunehood later on. :)

"Inari was a rice farmer who caught a fox in a trap, but released it when the fox promised to provide a good wife. The wife was the Kitsune in her human form. When the son of Hantei II grew ill near Inari's home, the Kitsune cured his illness. After his death, Hantei elevated Inari to a Fortune status. "

Inari was also the name of an Ayakashi PC in the previous game, hence why I keep thinking he just used all his goals to become a Fortune or something. :lol:

I mean, I have decided Ryoko is oblivious to 100% of Rokugani culture references like fortunes/honorifics.

So enjoy her being baffled that you all don't know what ogres are, and concerned when you talk about their being multiple gods and reincarnation.

To be fair, these have been a thing for 5 years or so. Not everyone has caught up yet.

Yeah it's a very valid way to play it. Jin is very much a proto-Rokugani at best in terns of canon L5R. With only five years since the clans formed most of us are still closer to Yobanjin than Rokugani. That being said early adopters, and/or kami brown-nosers, have probably already changed a lot.
