Nah. The afterlife section of the cycle is rarely instantaneous. Gotta spend some time waiting and then get judged. The only folks with a fast pass are usually those that ascend to tengoku.

My epilogue already established that years passed before he reached Emma-O. His soul is present on Ningen-do, his body just isn't ready.

Cremation becomes a thing, not because of fear of undeath, but because Miyako's masterwork book mentions, in detail, what a pain in the ass dragging a corpse around is.

Burning down a body is so difficult it's more likely to trigger the creation of the wheelbarrow than anything else.
Joke aside, the trip is unlikely to change the burial rites of Rokugan. We only encountered a few zombies, and, as of now, it's easy to dismiss them as monsters that can only exist within the boundaries of the shadowlands.
One day, we will learn the hard way this is not true and update our customs accordingly. But this day hasn't come yet I think.

I knew my little blurb wouldn't be made canon, for that reason. But, one of the reasons Nazo didn't go on the expedition was because she was pregnant and I liked the idea that Ryoshun influenced who would become his children.
