Wu doesn't decide who becomes a Family in the Dragon though. Togashi does.

So in the end, it comes back to how it will be handled, in terms of goals. I just feel like a single goal put towards it isn't enough and would require more collective effort.

Like a marriage it seems like it needs to be two character goals to make that happen, but I am not a GM.

For vassalage, I already have the family daimyo as well as my own desire, so that should be a sure bet.

I mean I went into this expecting Jin to not come out of it - the martyr trait exists for a reason.

But, if he does, I have about a half-dozen different possible goals stewing away depending on how many we get, length of time jump, outcomes of in game threads, etc.

Sora kind of wandered into into the blatantly obvious library goal he's working on, but I have a couple of other notions of he lives, depending on how many he gets (I never did actually figure out his third goal from the last game, which is a pity...)

I had library on my early list when Jin first encountered the memory stick trove but crossed it off when Sora started pursuing it with fervor in game.

It just clicked. Learning to read and write was Sora's biggest personal growth in the course of the last game, and I see it as a major reason for his being the dirt-worst Kolat Master ever...

Likewise, I didn't expect Library to show up on things I wanted to pursue either, but it just made sense for Saruko to want to spread teaching and enlightenment to more people.

Seems pretty reasonable to me if they have a way to play to it - vassal families have been made in history for what can be some pretty minor things (not even things super heroic, sometimes just a person or a family that Did A Thing Really Well Over Time and for every heroic founder there's a geisha house runner or a gardener or educator or renowned artist and etc.) and early in the Dawn like this a lot of the primary families were founded by people that kind of also showed up on the scene and got noticed in various ways, and again not necessarily overly heroic things at that either but just impressing in some way (looking at people like Ikoma and Agasha here for instance). If anything, now is the time of trying to gun for and form the latter more than the former. Play up what you're good at Skills/Advantage-wise, find a way to impress or get some leverage, and go for it I say!

Also wholeheartedly agree on everything libraries: we need them, don't need them, they're Kolat plots, reading and writing is a mistake for everyone, and I'm going to make sure to add a book or two to the piles when the time comes.
