She nodded to herself. Well, it wasn't like it was the sort of thing she actually wanted to happen. She just had her own imagination in a way. "Well, until you get to that point, let's try and keep you alive just a little longer. Avoid that horrid death for one more night." By doing that, maybe she could help avoid her own. "And... if it's not too much trouble, feed your spirit... friend tomorrow, please."

Because she had no idea how to fight a gaki.

"Yes, yes, soon," she replies as they reach camp. "This one will be returning to her tent now. Thank you for walking her back."

"Try not to get yourself killed too interestingly tonight," she muttered darkly and shook her head. She had a patrol to finish, and damn if that girl hadn't rattled her a little, despite her protestations. She headed back out to the river, grunting to herself.
