River Stroll [Day 5, EM]

[Seidou Haruyo]

Venturing forth from the camp Haruyo made her way toward where she had gained an idea that the river was. Once close, she followed the sound of it until she was just by it's side. Using a walking stick she carefully made her way onward for a stroll down the waters path. Finding the comfort of stone she sat upon it and felt the water carried on air touch upon her cheek.

Sighing, refreshed by the feeling of the early morning she felt the ground just by her feet. Pushing at it, feeling it's strength and opening it up by her manipulations. As she opened the earth with measured manipulations of her feet and footwear. So too did she measure the manner in which she opened a wound upon herself that she might drip the blood into the earth. Joining them, for a moment.

"Speak," she declared to the Earth. Stoic and true.

[Canary]

She felt the grass move against her feet and the way it shifted and moved, made a sound as if whispering despite the lack of wind during the day

"We receive your sacrifice, mortal. Speak."

[Seidou Haruyo]

"Speak of what Earth knows of this land. That which only Earth would know, the secrets that are not easily understood or unknown to most mortal beings," she said in return.

[Canary]

"Mortals only see the surface of all of which they encounter. Many things lie below it. Defeat the sickness of the surface, and it spreads beneath. Seeps into the ground. Below the surface of the earth. Below familiar faces."

[Seidou Haruyo]

"Speak of this sickness. Is there anything that I or my fellows could do to aid the Earth in curing this sickness from the depths that we do not witness. With this question answered, I would allow you return to your rest as I will have much on which I should think."

[Canary]

"None that we know. Jade only prevents the spread. If a reversal is possible, it would be something wholly new."

With that, the rustling of the grass returned to silence.

[Seidou Haruyo]

"Rest then, as we agreed," she said, though the kami had long departed. Setting forth she reached down and washed her wound in the running water. Wrapping it once she felt it had been cleaned enough.

With careful steps she journeyed back the way she came toward camp. Following the river and the sound of people working.
