"I mean. At the time they were rough. But what good is dwelling on them gonna do? Easier to move on and look to the day you're living. Everyone has difficult stuff in the past, some more than others, but theres no point in being obsessed with it."
He pauses for a moment and leans against a tree to pull a thorn out of his leg, tossing it aside.
"If I didn't have to go through everything I did I never would have gotten to where I am. And I been able to meet lots of different people the past few days. Lots of real interesting folks."

There's also a woman that makes weapons with animal teeth in them. Shark teeth. And a guy with a crow that seems way smarter than any other animal I've ever seen," he says, his idea of interesting apparently being unique more than anything else. "But everyone's got their own way of doing things and I've been alone for so long that they're all different from what I know."

"No, it didn't talk. It sat on the log and... taunted me? Kept looking at me and pecking the log. Then the Shinsei guy told me that it was a challenge. And it apparently didn't hold any hard feelings cause it landed on my shoulder after," he explains.
