[D3-EE] A Carver's Life for Me (ask, Mai's tent)

[Ryoshun Mai]

Mai sat outside her tent laboring away on her newest creation. The Magnolia wood was hard yet supple and proving a bit of a challenge. It would make for a great weapon once it was finished. In the meantime, work was slow. It was going, just slower than planned.

To make a wooden knife one had to be precise. They most certainly are capable of cutting. Especially after the teeth will be added. For now though, the blade portion had to be cut to the perfect thickness. Too wide and it was just a stick to bash against an enemy. Too thin and it wouldn't hold the teeth.

She had the shark's teeth lined up in a row on the ground in front of her, their arrangement already chosen and their numbers memorized. She specifically saved the eight wider and flatter teeth for this project.

Slowly, rasp after rasp, curl after curl, the shape hidden in the wood that only she could she revealed itself. To her it felt like Ryoshun himself guided her hands towards greatness.
