Heavenfall

"Fine, fine." Haka grumbles to no one in particular as she moves to a quieter part of the courtyard. Once there, she draws a knife from her bag, slices it across her wrist, and let's the blood trickle down from her fingers. "This one hopes you choke on it."

A faintly swirling mass of something fades into sight in front of her, all spectral, skeletal hands and leering skulls. It snatches up each drop of blood, devouring it greedily as Haka flexes her bloody fingers in annoyance.

Making her evening round, Inga walked about the courtyard. The morning crowds have dissipated and only a few people is around. The female rolls her eyes as if someone had said something that was fairly obvious, as she continued her walk. "Sure... perhaps should get some sage."

"Enough." Haka flicks the blood from her hand, sending the swirling spirit mass chasing after the last few droplets before it vanishes.

That matter settled, she presses the fingers of her other hand against the wound and huffs as she waits for the bleeding to stop.

Inga suddenly stopped as she heard someone. She followed the voice. "Hello?... Is everything all right?" Inga was curious then noted the blood. "Are you injured?"

"This one is fine," Haka replies, turning toward the voice. "She is only feeding blood to spirits. There is no cause for alarm."

Inga nodded. "Ah... keeping the peace amongst the spirits is always a good thing." She looked around. "Is there any way I can help?"

"Things should be under control now." Haka smiles in the women's direction. "This one thanks the curious one for her concern."

"I know how mad spirits can get. I have some attached to myself and have learned of ways to deal with them. I am Inga of the Shoji." She held to her piece of jade.

"Shoji?" Haka seems surprised. "Shoji Haka has been met this day. The other Shoji should be careful about using her name so freely, though."

Inga blinked a few times. "I see... so... we are some of the souls that the tribe think might redeem themselves by helping out these people?" Inga sighed as she moved close to the woman. "I think they wanted to get rid of me." The young woman whispered as she looked over the shoulder. She nodded to no one in the back.

"Hah!" Haka smirks. "This one left before she could be sacrificed. It is surely a sign of something that such people would meet "
