The castle’s central courtroom is a spartan affair, dimmed by the dark stone that makes up its ceilings and walls. Seidou ornamentation, such as it is, tends towards the working of bronze and the decoration of precious stones and those artworks are the few points of colour within the otherwise bare space.
The floor is covered with reed mats and the rear of the court is dominated by a squat stone dias reserved for Hida, Anjing or the heads of any of the other Seidou families should they be in attendance. The dias appears shot through with flecks of red and silver with rumours that the stone fell from the sky many years ago. The Seidou decided that such a material was only fit for Hida himself, since it clearly came from the same place.
