Heavenfall

Taochusu walked to the tent he had seen Shinsei at through their travels. He looks around for the bird or the man to see if either were present.

The bird was most definitely present, and stared at the large man from atop his tent.

"How you doing buddy? Things go well with the others at the waterfall?" he asks the bird. "Not a grub, but I got some chestnuts here."

He holds out a palm of them, already taken out of the prickly shell.

Karasu lets out an affirmative caw, then flits to Taochusu's palm and begins calmly pecking at the chestnuts.

"That's good. You been doing okay on the trip so far?"

The crow bobbed once and cawed, then jerked his head towards the tent where a large pile of plum pits sat in a neat little stack.

"Looks like you been eating well. You and Shinsei been planting those on the way?"

Karasu leapt to the ground, pecked a hole, dropped in an plum pit, then returned to Taochusu's hand with an affirmative caw.

"I see. It's good to grow new stuff," he says as the bird buries the pit. "Plum trees are pretty great too. Good fruit and pretty flowers. Is it your favorite fruit?"
