Nanzi had his doubts but he respected their sacrifice and said, "That is a noble sacrifice of your people."

"Less noble for the sacrificed," she points out. "Even then, if this one gave a person a choice between killing their neighbor or allowing a great storm to kill neighbor and a thousand thousand others, it is not a hard choice, no?"

[Nanzi]

"Well perhaps in time we can find a better solution that does not rely on sacrifice," he said thoughtfully.

"Perhaps," she says, taking one last sip of her drink. "This was good conversation. This one will return to her tent now, to prepare for tomorrow's march."

[Nanzi]

"Of course, do you need any aid returning to your tent?" he asked.

[Shoji Haka]

"No," she says, waving away the request. "This one should be able to find it without too much trouble. And if she fails, she gets to find out if others will kick her out of their tent when she guesses wrong! It will be exciting either way."

[Nanzi]

"Nanzi has had worse midnight visitors, he will pray it works out to the good. Best of luck to you and whatever tent you find yourself in, shaman," he said warmly.
