She paused to take a bit of a bit of jerked fish. "Mmm... so where's your boyfriend anyway?"

The only school I've made a character for with Momoku is Asahina Shugenja. If you're not able to spend Void to negate wounds, may as well use them to reduce enemy damage by -0k1. Still a pain, but a usable pain.

Umeno couldn't help a bit of an awkward, shy comment. "Ano... you look good and ready for combat Kinsen-sama. I hope it doesn't come to that of course..."

Umeno sat on the seat of a wagon, and gave a a grunt of greetings as she saw Phi lost in thought. "Decided t' join me in my eternal vigilance at these damn wagons tonight, eh? I thought you'd be going into that pit for sure."

Umeno smirked a bit and rolled a shoulder. "Mmm, yeah. Between the paste that Jin-sama gave me, and your bandages, I'm doing just fine."

She didn't say anything else. She wasn't sure what to say or how to bring things up, though she had a guess about how things had gone.

Umeno would be staying back that evening and making certain nothing attacked the camp and the supplies so everyone could return home safely. She had heard that Hantei was going to rescue his brother, and that Kinsen would be going to help defend the shugenja as they cast their ritual. She had looked...

Rather than post in either/both guard threads, I'll just say here that Umeno literally just did a combat D15, so unless there are literally not 9 interested participants between the two, I'm more than fine guarding the camp.

Yet still a better father than Onnotangu.

Entering the tent wearing her armor and carrying a tetsubo, Umeno gave a bow before grunting quietly. "Was told t' take a break from guard duty for some line. Shinsei?"

She got in line for the little teacher, not even certain why she was there.

Now wasn't the time for questions, though she had many to ask, so Umeno just sat there becoming mummified. She didn't mind, though soon she wasn't able to move much.

I finally got around to reading the two morning threads. What a time to be dedicated to the morning guard shift at the wagons! Not that she had anything to add on the Name stuff. She's the sort that would expect Shinsei to seek her out if he needed her to go into the pit anyway.

"No, we were all hurting it, most certainly. It definitely didn't like the Jade, but we kinda already knew it wouldn't." She paused, frowning. "Makes me wonder if it's creatures like that who're torturing Fu Leng. Imagine being burned like that for five years."

Umeno gave another smirk. "Wasn't that great to begin with." It was a tease, to lighten the mood even if just a little.
