Heavenfall

Dawei turns to face the noise and, seeing what rises, blanches. But his lord is here, and he will not flee if he can help it.

Still supporting Hantei, still letting the Lord Stag lean his weight upon him, Dawei reaches for his sword, ineffective as he knows it will be against what comes.

Dawei grunts as he continues to support the weight of the exhausted Lord Hantei, but he proceeds, even so.

"We can do this, Lord! Stay with me!"

There are two, and Dawei passes Fu Leng to Black Moonset, continuing to pull the Lord Stag along.

Again, they make progress (25 to pass TN 15; I believe all three have passed the second test.)

Dawei tries, but something catches at his foot--perhaps some scrap of what passes for the scat of such creatures.

Dawei pushes the Kami, taking more of the burden of Fu Leng onto himself to ease the weight on his own lord. And they gain speed as he does so.

Dawei had, in fact, been surprised to see his lord act so. But at the words of Black Moonset, he shakes himself, moves to help support his lord's brother, and helps them move towards their exit.

Dawei rises.

"The honor is mine."

And he resumes eating. It's going to be a busy day.

"So it is" replies the hunter, and he stalks off, crouching low, darting from what seems an outcropping to what might be shade to some other structure. The beacon shows forth clearly to him, especially at first, and it gives him strong bearings as he proceeds, stopping at regular intervals to be sur...

And now, I must away.

Dawei is present, armed and armored, jade touching his bare skin, and ready.

His player, however, may not be quite as in for the next while, as he will soon need to transit and is giving a tutorial for an exorbitant fee later on.

Dawei stops dead still at the gesture, something of the statue-like qualities of the Seppun of another reality showing in him at that moment.

He swiftly returns the gesture. "The Lady Hantei flatters me."

"I trust, as I hope you must, that the Lord Hantei knows what he is about. And I will be there to aid him, if the need arises. What my skills may avail are at his disposal, as they have been these ten years. For I swore to him when The Seppun did, or within that very hour, when the Kami descended." ...

Dawei nods. "Seen him about. Not a whole lot of interaction."

He regards Kinsen curiously.

"You'll forgive a teacher some insight, but you seem to have something else on your mind. What troubles you?"

"Looking at recruiting?" Dawei smiles slightly.

"Unfortunately, I've not much spoken with those who haven't sworn yet. Can't help much on that score."

"Why are you asking, if I may?"

"Ah."

He thinks for a moment.

"Jiyo Sora, strangely enough. He's been working as a peacemaker internally to the group, which is of interest, given his background and what I remember from five years back. The Nezumi Black Moonset, as well. Jiyo Ayumu, too; Slim's a good cook."

"Not sure I understand the question, Lady Hantei. Can't give you a good answer without."

"We come from different places. Of course we disagree on some points."

Another bite.

"No, Lady Hantei, you are not. And not because of any fault in you. I simply prefer to have a man beside me in bed, which I think you can understand well."

He eats more. And he is not blushing, oddly, the comment about his preference being offered plainly.
