Re: OOC Chat

My epilogue already established that years passed before he reached Emma-O. His soul is present on Ningen-do, his body just isn't ready.

Re: OOC Chat

Nah. The afterlife section of the cycle is rarely instantaneous. Gotta spend some time waiting and then get judged. The only folks with a fast pass are usually those that ascend to tengoku.

Re: OOC Chat

Well, it's a bit too soon for Taochusu's reincarnated soul to be of age. I could, however, play the next character as that reincarnated soul's parent and have them as a dependent. Then play them as grown up in the game after that. I imagine it probably took around 10 years of wandering meido before ...

Re: Elemental Magic (Bloodless Casting)

Why not have a standardized specific set of tools? Ones similar to divination tools? It's fun to do the individualistic type stuff, sure. Fluffy interesting. But bloodletting for casting was already standardized so why would this not develop in a similar way and be standardized? Like having five sym...

Re: Seeker of Knowledge School (WIP)

For a rank 5 you might lean on the blend of Lore and combat. Tie them together by giving a bonus to damage equal to ranks in Lore: Anatomy for beings of Ningen-do, Lore: Shadowlands for creatures from Jigoku or the Lost, and Lore: Lying Darkness for creatures of the Nothing.

Re: Last Son of the Chusu (Taochusu)

I was planning on going Bat, but he could have been convinced otherwise easily. He was gullible so swaying him wouldn't have been too difficult.

Whatever people want to do with it. Early artifact creation could be fun.

Re: The Brotherhood - Order of Heroes (Approved)

I could imagine Taochusu's soul going through it's cycles on the wheel, each time being identified by the order and pushed to some feat. And in time that soul being purified into the eventual Fortune of Heroes and getting adopted by the Order. All with the only one knowing the truth being Emma-O. Pr...

Re: Last Son of the Chusu (Taochusu)

There was no real specific inspiration for him, but a general enjoyment of the player for Youtube videos on primitive survival skills, strongman competitions, and guqin music. The guqin stuff was a change I made the day before submission because I wanted to add some basic level of cultural competenc...

Re: The Brotherhood - Order of Heroes (Approved)

More Brotherhood is more funner!

It made the most sense to me for implementing a legacy. Making their sacrifices into a teachable moment for other potential would-be heroes.

Re: OOC Chat

At worst he would be an animated body without a head. Which I suspect wouldn't happen. But his soul was untainted and his head was gone and his overall impact on the empire minimal enough that he'd likely only be honored as someone that did the right thing. I would expect his soul to just move along...

Re: Last Son of the Chusu (Taochusu)

Taochusu's story is going to be part of initial rhetoric for the Brotherhood. About being willing to give everything for the good of others. The goal will be revealed eventually if approved, but it would have a somewhat shaping effect on the Brotherhood in their early ways. Basically turns his contr...

I don't think he's divine enough for that. And he has no brain for tactical thought. Just a headless undead warrior.

Re: Last Son of the Chusu (Taochusu)

He always wanted more people around, desperately. He didn't like certain situations but there weren't any people he disliked. A brief tense moment with Nanzi in the swamp mostly because he was being terse for the purpose of getting folks out of the swamp. And he didn't like the idea that Shinsei tur...

Re: Last Son of the Chusu (Taochusu)

Yeah. 90% of what he learned was gained through the pain of experience. He was literally on his own since he was 12. Nobody taught him anything close to a technique.
